Spring Equinox for Modern Goddesses (and Gods)
WalkAbout
Monday, 22 September 2008

Spring Flower Welcome to the Spring Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. It falls on the 23rd September and in the Northern Hemisphere it's the Autumn Equinox and falls on the 22nd September (pardon the pun).

This Equinox is where night and day is equal. Down Under we are going into days where daylight dominates and summer is nigh (yay!), and the northies are heading into shorter days on their way to winter. Us Southies find ourselves awakening from the darker days of winter to feel rewewed, invigored and inspired from the abundance of light. Here are a few modern ways we can acknowledge the Spring Equinox and bring in the joy of Spring and zest for life:

The South West of Western Australia has been graced by a half albino whale in the protected Flinders Bay, being closely watched taught by it's 60 tonne mother the ways of the ocean. Steve Mitchell of Naturaliste Charters said the calf "sticks out like a neon lollypop.''

FAQ 1. What are recurring dreams and nightmares?
Frequently Asked Questions
Monday, 18 August 2008

Recurring dreams and nightmares occur to get our attention. They are a 'Wake Up!' call telling us that a pattern is occurring in our life that we're not listening to and to change it as it's is detrimental to our well-being.

The recurring pattern usually occurs in waking life first. We have the choice to notice the pattern and make conscious changes that will make us happier. If we don't, our subconscious kicks in and we're given the recurring pattern in symbol form. If we listen to the dream message and look at a similar pattern in our life and change it, normally the dream stops. If we ignore the message and choose to remain the same, then we miss out on an opportunity to grow for the better and the dreams either stop because we are quite ok to remain the same, or the dreams become more intense.

Our Planet EarthHow cool to have our own planet as the international focus this year.

The UN press release reads: "By a draft on the International Year of Planet Earth, 2008, which the Committee approved without a vote on 11 November, the Assembly would declare 2008 the International Year of Planet Earth. It would also designate the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to organize activities to be undertaken during the Year, in collaboration with UNEP and other relevant United Nations bodies, the International Union of Geological Sciences and other Earth sciences societies and groups throughout the world. Also by that draft, the Assembly would encourage Member States, the United Nations system and other actors to use the Year to increase awareness of the importance of Earth sciences in achieving sustainable development and promoting local, national, regional and international action".
